Back to School Must Haves!

Hello everyone! Sadly our summer is almost over, but it also means back to school shopping for books and clothes (my personal favourite!)! So I decided to show you guys some of my best back to school tips and tricks for getting those cute must haves but staying on a budget :)

1.  Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara $8
At first I was a bit sceptical of whether or not this mascara would really "crush the clumps" because lets face it, lots of companies say that and it never works. However, I was recommended to try this stuff out and boy oh boy is it ever the best! Literally, there is NO clumps, which really surprised me since I normally lean away from drugstore mascara and more towards Sephora brands. This type really is perfect though since it stays on long, makes those lashes close-up ready, and comes in many shades.

2. Martha Stewart Binders $10
I am a really picky person when it comes to binders for school because I like all the funky colours but still want something durable and sturdy without the price tag that comes along with it. That's why I love Martha Stewart's brand of binders! They hold everything really well and also have a nice colour scheme of teal blue, black, white, and red.

3. Forever 21 Makeup Bag/ Pencil Box $8
Now this may sound a little odd, but using a makeup bag as a pencil box really is the way to go when shopping for a place to put all those pencils and pens! The possibilities are endless when it comes to makeup bag designs and are also really sturdy so they will last all year.
4. Revlon Clipless Ceramic Style Wand $25
If you are like me then curling your hair can be a challenge due to thick, straight locks. It's super tiring because it takes soooo long and then the curls don't even stay long enough for you to actually go anywhere! That's why I really like this wand! It has a variable professional high heat (up to 430 degrees Fahrenheit!) for longer lasting and cleaner results, is very quick to use, and due to it's bubble look you can create not only one, but two types and sizes of curls!!

5. Forever 21 Jewelry
This is a more general tip but a very useful one at that! Forever 21 has such a vast and amazingly cute accessories section that comes at an affordable price, so you can get what you want and more without breaking the bank.

6. Marc Anthony Dry Shampoo $12
Dry shampoo is a must, especially if you don't shower everyday. It revamps that tired looking hair by giving volume and shine all while giving the appearence that nothing is on your hair due to it's clear liquid. Plus, it smells super nice and who doesn't like that?!

I hope this helped everyone with back to school shopping while staying on a budget! If you have any suggestions or comments please leave them bellow because I would love to hear them!! Talk to everyone next Sunday :)

Review: Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat!

Hi everyone! Last weekend I went to the states to go shopping for back to school. When I was down there I when to a store called Ulta, it was my first time there and let me tell you I loved it! Every time I passed by an aisle I saw a product that I knew because I have watched and read so many beauty gurus talk about them. As I was at Ulta I managed to pick up Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in the colour "Fuzz-Sea" (I really love the name!) for $5.99, I thought it would be good idea to do a product review on the nail polish.  Before I start I just want to say that this is simply my own opinion, and its not meant to change your decision on this nail polish or any of the other Sally Hansen products.

(sorry the picture is blurry!)

1. When I was applying the nail polish to my nails, I noticed that I was a bit tricky to put on with out making a mess of it. Plus it was a bit hard to put the same amount on each nail.

2. If it just so happens that you have some nail polish on the out skirts of your nail, and you are too lazy to remove it (like I am), then the confetti things can and will get caught on your clothes, blankets, etc.

3. I found I very difficult to remove the nail polish, it took off the 1st layer on my cotton round. I just ended up putting nail polish remover on my fingers and scraping it off with my nail, but I should of used a toothpick or something. Please let me know if their is an easier way to remove this nail polish.

This is it for my review on Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat in the colour "Fuzz-Sea". I hope you guys enjoyed this, please leave comments down below or you may follow me by clicking on the links below. See you guys next saturday! :)

Catwalk to Redcarpet: Who Wore it Best

Hello everyone! One of my favourite things in magazines is the Who Wore It Better sections because I love comparing the outfits and seeing what they could have done differently. So I decided to play on that and do something a bit different; show outfits from the catwalk worn by models and then show celebrities wearing it! I will then pick my personal favourite and tell you what I would change about the other one.

1) Emma Watson in Chanel Autumn 2013 VS. Chanel model
Emma Watson - Runway To Red Carpet - Catwalk To Red Carpet

Personally, I think that Emma Watson wore this outfit better! She was able to pull this off all while looking sophisticated and flirty at the same time. I especially like Emma's red lipstick because it adds the pop of colour that's just right for that dress. The Chanel model on the other hand I feel didn't look as put together. If she had gotten rid of the furry hat (seriously don't understand that one) and worn her hair in an updo this look would've had better results.

2) Diane Kruger in Nina Ricci Autumn/Winter 2013 VS. Catwalk model
Diane Kruger - Runway To Red Carpet - Catwalk To Red Carpet
Now to me this isn't about the dress because I think they both wore it equally as well; It's more about the hair. The catwalk model won this one because of the soft updo pulled away from her face in this ensemble. If Diane had maybe swept her hair to the side a bit more, it would have provided a nice frame for her face and therefore given off a better finished look.

3)Naomi Harris in Monique Lhuillier Spring/Summer 2013 VS. Catwalk model

Runway to Red carpet - Marie Claire UK

I absolutely LOVE how Naomi Harris wore this dress!! She looks gorgeous in this colour and her hair is very pretty pulled up at the top and back, so for me she was the clear winner. I think the catwalk model should just apply a little less eyeshadow (unless she's going for a clown look) and maybe add a clutch, but other than that I do like the way the sleeves fall on her.

4) Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013 VS. Catwalk model
Runway to Red carpet - Marie Claire UK

Jennifer Lawrence is one of my favourite actresses and when she wore this dress it looked absolutely stunning on her! Her necklace that night especially was what drew me to pick this as my favourite because it really complimented the simplicity of the whole outfit. The model on the other hand didn't have an accessory that was suitable to her dress. The only thing I would change about her version of the ensemble would be to take off the headpiece, but other than that the dress did suit her!

5) Audrey Tautou in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2013VS. Catwalk model
Runway to Red carpet - Marie Claire UK

Now in between these two at first I couldn't decide which I liked better, but the longer I looked I decided that the model actually was able to pull this off instead. The thing I wasn't too crazy about with Aubrey's version was that between her hair, makeup, and colouring she kinda looked like a ghost! With the model I really loved the length of this dress because it gives the chance to show off some cute shoes, and as you can probably tell by my other blog name, A Princess In Pumps, I am a huge shoe lover (that is maybe even an understatement)!!!

So who were your favourites?? What would you change?? I would really love to hear from you bellow and if everyone enjoyed this then I would love to play on this a bit more and perhaps do a Catwalk to Sidewalk next time :)

Summer Nails: Crossed Dot Mani

Hey guys!! I'm Sarah and this is my very first blog post so I am super excited :) I will be doing a lot of nail tutorials when I post every Sunday, although I will also do different makeup techniques, home remedies and anything fashion related.  For my first nail tutorial I decided to do a fun summer mani that's easy to do and looks super cute.

What you will need:
-Cuticle Pusher
-2 Nail Polish Colours
-Dotting Tool*
-Clear Coat

Step 1) First things first: make those cuticles purrrttyyy :) Push them back until they are not noticeable to achieve a better end result.  It isn't necessary but will sure look nice!  After that, apply a thin layer of clear coat to each nail.  I used nails inc. Flawless Base Coat from Sephora, although any type will work.

Step 2) After your nails dry, it's time to add a splash of colour!  This works best if your nail is filed more in a square versus almond shape. On your left hand, begin from the bottom left corner of each nail and draw a line to the top right hand corner. I used Rue Beauty Jade nail polish. After you fill each one in, it should look like a sideways triangle. Do it the opposite way on the right hand.  If you are like me, you will need LOTS of Q-tips and nail polish remover especially on your right hand because lets face it, the left may look like a million bucks but the right hand somehow always turns out like a two year old with colouring issues painted it.

Step 3)  Now for the fun part! Time to add those polka dots like you're tryin' out for 101 Dalmatians!  Apply a small amount of the other nail polish colour (I used Maybelline's Color Show Coral Glow) to the little end of the dotting tool. *If you don't have a dotting tool, you can DIY one by using a pin head and sticking the pointy end in the eraser of a pencil, like done in the pic to the left. On the left hand, make dots the opposite way you made the triangles. Start from the bottom right hand corner and make a row of dots to the top left corner. Make enough rows on your nail until there isn't any more room. Do the opposite direction on the other hand. Finish with a top coat.

Now you have cute and funky summer nails perfect for any event! I love this tutorial because you can achieve different looks and styles just by changing the colours :)

I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! Let me know what you think by commenting below! If you have any suggestions for other tutorials, remedies, fashion posts, or product reviews just let me know and I would be more than happy to try them and post how it went. Thanks for reading and I will post again next Sunday :)
